A Channel 4 and Hulu comedy about a chaotic aspiring actress trying to put her life back together after a long-term relationship falls apart.
Marcella Donoghue is an aspiring actress in her thirties trying to piece her life back together after a twelve-year relationship falls apart. Chronically broke, between jobs and short on direction, she throws herself into self-improvement with more enthusiasm than judgement — chasing acting parts, learning to drive, and leaning on a dubious life coach, an endlessly patient driving instructor and a circle of well-meaning friends.
Conaty's tragicomic creation mines debt, loneliness and low-level chaos for big laughs without ever losing its warmth, balancing cartoon-quick flashback gags with moments of real emotional truth.
